It has been translated to both Korean and Japanese\u2014the Korean edition is especially popular. She is the co-author (with Deborah Prothrow Stith, M.D.) of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Consequences-Violence-Destroying-Teenage-Population\/dp\/0060163445\">Deadly Consequences<\/a><\/em> (Harper Perennial) an examination of teenage gun violence. <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/History-Women-America-Founding-Feminists-How-ebook\/dp\/B004JHYSH6?ref_=ast_author_dp\">A History of Women in America<\/a> <\/em>(Bantam), co-authored with Carol Hymowitz, has sold a quarter of a million copies and is still in print four decades after publication.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Michaele\u2019s articles appear in <em>The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal<\/em>, <em>The Boston Globe, Forbes, Crain\u2019s Chicago Business, Working <\/em>Mother and dozens of other print and online publications.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">She leads writing workshops at Politics and Prose, Washington, D.C.\u2019s beloved independent bookstore.&nbsp; For many years she taught writing to psychotherapists and psychoanalysts at New Directions, a psychoanalytically oriented writing program based in Washington, D.C. from which she graduated.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/michaeleweissmanwrites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/God-in-a-Cup-Japanese-1-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-543\" style=\"width:331px;height:248px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/michaeleweissmanwrites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/God-in-a-Cup-Japanese-1-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/michaeleweissmanwrites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/God-in-a-Cup-Japanese-1-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/michaeleweissmanwrites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/God-in-a-Cup-Japanese-1-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/michaeleweissmanwrites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/God-in-a-Cup-Japanese-1-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/michaeleweissmanwrites.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/God-in-a-Cup-Japanese-1-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Japanese edition of <em>God in a Cup <\/em>by Michaele Weissman.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Michaele has been married for forty years to John Melngailis, an emeritus professor of electrical engineering,&nbsp;who owns <a href=\"https:\/\/blackroosterfood.com\">Black Rooster Food<\/a>, a small company that markets authentic Latvian rye bread.
